Label text:Belonged to Ethel Chambres (maiden name Sands)– She was a British War Bride and travelled to Canada by ship at the end of the Second World War with the 2 trunks and resided in Oakville. Married Richard Chambres who was born and lived in Oakville for 104 years until he passed away on May 8th, 2020. He grew up on Reynolds Street, joined the Lorne Scots and served in the Second World War. His name is engraved on the memorial honour roll in George’s Square, as well as in St. Jude’s Church. The donor’s grandfather, Philip William Chambres, Richard’s father, worked for W. S. Davis and was also on the Oakville Town Council for a time.
