Label text:This chair was left to the Oakville Historical Society by Ev Bullied (Savage). She was born and raised in the village of Sheridan and walked to and from Maple Grove School across the farm of escaped slave James Wesley Hill. His son, Frank took over the farm, made the chair and gifted it to Ev. Ev was born in 1919 and died in 2019.
