Label text:Belonged to R.H Lyon (Robert Henry) b. 1893-1916. Son of William & Annie Lyon, grandson of George & Mary Lyon. Lived in the historic Lyon's log cabin. The cabin, which English immigrants George and Mary Lyon moved into around 1879, was originally situated north of Oakville Town Hall on Trafalgar Road. The Lyon family raised nine children in the home.
The log cabin was discovered in 1973 by workers clearing land for development and dismantled for safety. The building was restored and moved to Shipyard Park later that year, but moved to new location in 2014.
