Label text:Bought by donor's mother, Mrs. John Nicoll, around 1900 from Wheatley's Department Store in Regina, Saskatchewan. Wheatley's later amalgamated with Birk's.
German silver is a type of nickel brought to England in the 1840s. It was used in Sheffield Plate and was good for flat wear as it is very strong.
