Label text:Burls can be caused by several different ways including virus, fungus or injury. It is mostly found underground in the root system, but will always be covered in bark. Burls can come from many different types of trees. One of the most famous types of burl is birdseye maple from the sugar maple tree. Burl is highly value and is used for veneers.
