Label text:Item belonged to Emelda Beeler Chisholm and was kept on her desk in the front hall of Erchless (between the wall sconces). Emelda kept her stamps in this box "whenever she could get it open!".

DescriptionDecorative cylindrical-shaped brass box; sealed lid; side engraved with a Chinese dragon and lotus flower surrounded by swirls of smoke on a background of small punched circles; lid with Chinese character 'Fu' (Fortune or Good Luck) on a punched circle background in the center encircled by row of repetitive designs, triangles and stylized lotus flower.
Uniformity of texture on base indicates container is machine-made.
