Label text:Made by App & Prewitt, Modistes, Ejansville, Indiana; belonged to donor's great-grandmother, Mary Elisabeth Chahoon (nee McEachron), it was her going away dress on her marriage to George Chahoon. They were residents of Grand Mere, Quebec, and owned Laurentide Pulp and Paper Mill in Quebec.
DescriptionWomen's skirt and blouse; rose and green coloured abstract woven pattern on overskirt and blouse; filet lace bodice; black velvet trim; blue rosettes at neck; four blue silk bands on high collar; net flounce at front hem of skirt; silk taffeta lining; gold coloured metal buttons at cuffs.
