Wichert & Gardiner was registered as a company in 1897/98 in Lain's Directory Brooklynn. Their office and salesroom was at Broadway and McKibbin Street through 24, 26 and 28 Boerum Street. In May 1903, the company was awarded a Gold medal for lady's shoes at the TransMississippi Exposition. It also took part in the Universal Exposition in St. Louis.
